... Is anyone reading this living in a swing state (or a swing district of Maine or Nebraska*) and not planning to vote for Obama? If so, care to talk about it? I promise to try not to be obnoxious, despite the fact that I care very much.

* Maine and Nebraska assign electoral votes individually by congressional district. Plus two more for the statewide majority winner.

Well, I haven't gotten any knocks on my door. I wasn't aware that the sign had any force, actually - I regard it as more of a notification to potential door-knockers that they will be told to piss off, which does indeed apply to both salespeople and canvassers. (Though not Obama canvassers since you're the good guys.)

I'm heading out to vote now, actually - would have done so earlier but was waiting for Molly to research the local races and tell me how to vote on those.

When I canvass, I always ignore "no soliciting" signs because they do not apply to political canvassing.

I also very strongly believe that being contacted by political campaigns is one's responsibility in exchange for living in a democracy, along with jury duty and taxes.
